Description

‘Finding Bliss’ is a stunning painting by the artist Radha Reddy. ‘Finding Bliss’ is part of the collection ‘Joy of Being’ inspired by the beautiful faces Radha sees every day and the emotions hidden behind them.

‘Finding Bliss’ is a portrait which truly focuses on the emotions, especially behind the eyes, which for Radha can be the most challenging part of portraying the face. She aims to use the eyes as the window to a person’s soul, bringing out their inner and emotions and feelings. Every eye that she paints always tells a different story. Her paintings also focus on appreciating woman hood, which we can see clearly here in ‘Finding Bliss’. The painting is beauteous, sensual, and elegant, perfectly capturing a woman’s beauty in its simplest form.

Radha grew up in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, and as a young child always had an interest in drawing and painting, in which she decided to pursue this interest seriously after her own children had started full time education. Radha is a self-taught artist who has developed a unique style, experimenting with different mediums, with most of her recent work being done with acrylics. Her works are part of two collections, ‘Joy of Being’, which portrays her love for faces and expressions, and ‘Journey of a Free Soul’, in which she paints whirling dervishes, practitioners and a mystical form of Sufism. Since 2011, her works have been exhibited in Hyderabad, Mumbai and London.
