Tai-Shan Schierenberg – Artist and TV Presenter

Tai-Shan Schierenberg is a British portrait painter, based in London. He was the joint winner of the 1989 BP Portrait Award, founder of the Painting department at Art Academy London and is a presenter and judge on the hugely popular Artist of the year series on Sky Arts channel.

As part of the BP Portrait prize, Tai-Shan was commissioned to paint the portrait of playwright John Mortimer for the National Portrait Gallery's collection. The gallery also holds his portraits of Lord Carrington from 1994, Lord Sainsbury 2002 and Seamus Heaney from 2004.
