This is a fabulous unique three-day break for two people in the northern part of Rioja ideal for wine and food lovers. The scenery and setting are out this world, with breath-taking views of the valley of vineyards and the steep Cantabrian Mountains, superb food and excellent wines. Staying in the hilltop ancient walled medieval town of Laguardia in the heart of the Rioja wine region where cars are not allowed (which will take you back 1000 years), you can enjoy three nights bed and breakfast in an individually designed double or twin room at a magnificent boutique hotel conversion with superb food, an incredible range of wines and a unique refurbished underground cellars where you can sample delicious tapas and taste the world-famous Rioja wines. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the hotel concierge team and can spend the evening exploring the medieval town of Laguardia. On the first morning your personal local guide will take you on an unforgettable morning wine tour, you will be visiting the incredible Bodega Finca Valpiedra wine estate situated in a privileged location. You will have a personal guided visit, a 4x4 drive through the vineyards down to the river followed by a tasting of some of the wines of this amazing winery accompanied by aperitifs. After this unique experience you will be taken to one of the most photographed hotels in the world, Hotel Marqués de Riscal. A 5-star grand deluxe property designed by world famous architect Frank Gehry, located in the oldest winery in Rioja where you will enjoy an aperitif with Rioja wines admiring great views from the hotel terrace. On the way back to your hotel the driver will take you to see Ysios from outside, another landmark in Rioja, impressive winery building perfectly merging with the valley and the mountains. Wherever you are or go it is ideal for great photos. Following a free afternoon to admire the landscapes and town, around 8 pm your local guide will pick you up from the hotel and will take you to one of the most famous gastronomic streets in Spain located in the Capital of Rioja, Logroño, approximately 15 minutes away. With over 100 tapas bars one after another, each one specializing in one tapa, whichever are your favourite dishes our guide will take you to a tapas restaurant/bar where they have mastered the cooking of those dishes. You will experience the best tapas guided tour sampling unique local food accompanied by Rioja wines. Your second day will be for you to explore and enjoy the most amazing surroundings.
