Baby Brooke underwent emergency heart surgery at Leeds General Infirmary, over an hour away from the family’s home in Doncaster Her parents stayed at Eckersley House for ten nights so could be with their daughter every step of the way.
“We were told by the nurses that we had been allocated a room in Eckersley House. We had no idea what or where Eckersley House was but was amazed to discover that it is a ‘Home from Home’ run by The Sick Children’s Trust, located literally adjacent to the hospital and where our precious daughter was lying fighting for her life. Upon arrival it was soon clear that the facilities were amazing.”
