Alex's Wish is a parent led charity joining the fight to end Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe & progressive muscle wasting condition, with a life expectancy of 25 years.  Huge advances in science & medicine mean a cure is no longer a pipe dream, with funding & awareness we can achieve our goal.

Our mission is to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born. It’s a devastating aggressive muscle wasting disease which leaves children completely paralysed by late teens. It is caused by a mutation on the X chromosome, & it can affect any family. Boys are missing a protein, as a result every single muscle in their body is destroyed. It is 100% fatal & most boys are only expected to live until their mid-twenties due to heart and respiratory complications.
